We were thrilled when Sunset Magazine reached out to us to predict 2019’s wedding trends! From vintage lounge furniture, acrylic signage, pampas grass and Himalayan rock salt, we’re excited for the year! Click HERE to see the full feature on Sunset Magazine.
It’s no surprise that Himalayan rock salt has been trending in all facets, so why not incorporate it into your wedding design! The trend is also famous simply for its beautiful pink color – perfect for any millennial bride. We see this trending for those tropical and summer weddings in 2019. From welcome drinks in Himalayan sea salt shot glasses to candle holders and table signage, there are a variety of ways to incorporate this trend into your wedding. Pair with copper elements and lots of florals and your guests will be head over heels.
This nostalgic grass from the seventies has made its comeback. Not only is it beautiful, it’s also budget-friendly, versatile, available all year round and add instant texture. I love pampas grass because it can be styled so many ways – from a luxe romantic affair to a wild boho wedding. The plant’s feathers can be found in white, beige and pink. It’s also a great alternative for brides who aren’t crazy about flowers. It can be a gorgeous focal point for a ceremony arch, hanging floral installation, or a table runner. The neutral and free-flowing style of pampas grass will make it a 2019 trend.
The last few years have shown us that there is no wrong way to incorporate acrylic accents into your big day. In 2019, we’ll see the minimalist trend taken to the next level with plenty of colored tints to choose from. The material’s neutral nature makes for amazing signs, invitations and place cards. The translucent details not only add sophistication, but stand out in a way that lends it surrounding decor to take the true spotlight. Design an even more creative display with my new favorite: smokey acrylic signage. The mix of modern and minimalist pairs well with loose, romantic greenery and florals.
There’s no better way for guests to “lounge” than on vintage furniture pieces. Since your guests will be sitting at tables for the reception, add some lounge spaces for them to chat during cocktail hour or a cozy place they can kick their feet up after hitting the dance floor. Indoor furniture outdoors is a great combination that will make your guests feel at home. Adding a romantic loveseat for your sweetheart table, an antique dresser as your wedding bar or vintage rugs to your garden lounge creates more character and some gorgeous vignettes for photos. Don’t let the word “vintage” scare you away – we see the trend taking new heights in 2019 by adding more layered rugs and faux fur throw pillows and blankets to your lounge look.
